Who this policy covers

Michael Alexander owns and operates La Creme at lacreme.app, a Houston local discovery guide. This policy covers information handled through the guide and related correspondence. Linked merchants and other providers have their own privacy practices.

Information you choose to share

Community pins include a place name, address or neighborhood, category, chile rating and optional note. A display name may be included if you voluntarily provide one. Submissions can become public, including associated map coordinates and dates. Share public place information; keep private addresses, contact details and other sensitive personal information out of notes.

If you email us, we receive your email address, message, attachments and any other information you include. We use that correspondence to respond and handle your request.

Maps, hosting and outside services

Our hosting provider, Netlify, may process technical records such as IP address, browser information, requested pages, referrer and access time to deliver and secure the site. The guide loads maps from OpenStreetMap and images from Unsplash. Loading these resources sends request information to their providers, which may maintain logs or use cookies under their own policies.

Google services may receive a place name and address to find map coordinates or retrieve place information. Search and directions links send your chosen query to Google when you open them. Providers may process information outside your state or country.

Your location is optional

Selecting “Use my location” requests your browser’s permission. If you allow it, your coordinates are included in a Google Maps link. You can decline, use a typed search instead, or revoke permission in your browser’s site settings. This feature does not require you to publish your location as a community pin.

Cookies and affiliate tracking

When a link is marked as an active affiliate link, a merchant or affiliate network may use link identifiers, cookies or similar technologies to attribute a visit or purchase and calculate a commission. Their privacy and cookie choices apply at those destinations.

As of the date above, the main lacreme.app guide has no active affiliate tracking integration. These information pages do not require affiliate tracking. This does not mean that hosting, embedded services or sites you visit collect no information.

Use, access and retention

We use information to display contributions, maintain the guide, respond to messages, correct content and address abuse. Service providers process information needed for those purposes. Information may also be disclosed where required by law.

We retain submissions, correspondence and service records according to their purpose, ongoing relevance, operational needs and applicable legal obligations. Public contributions may remain until corrected or removed. Provider logs and copies held by others follow their own retention practices.

Your choices and requests

You can browse without submitting a pin, limit what you email, manage location permissions, and block or clear cookies through your browser. Blocking outside resources may affect maps or images. Review each provider’s privacy settings for additional choices.

For access, correction, deletion or other privacy requests, email alexandermichaelwinston@gmail.com. Identify the relevant page or submission. We may need information to verify a request and will consider applicable rights and obligations. This page’s date will change when the policy is updated.
